SudoCrime is a daily logic puzzle from the Portuguese news site Observador that mixes sudoku with a detective story. Each day's case shows a building plan on a small grid, a victim and several suspects, each with clues about where they stood. Place everyone so that no row or column holds two people, and the killer is the one left alone with the victim.

About SudoCrime (Observador)

SudoCrime is part of Observador's games section, launched in 2026 alongside its daily sudoku and the word game AbraPalavra. Each day brings a new case with its own title and a short story, the same for all players. The 2 October 2026 case, Ida ao Banco (A Trip to the Bank), had five suspects and a victim spread across a 6x6 plan of fifteen rooms.

The board is a floor plan divided into rooms and furnished with objects, doors and windows. As in sudoku, each row and each column can hold only one person. Every suspect comes with clues such as which room they were in, whether they stood beside a window or behind a piece of furniture, or how many people were in a neighbouring room.

You work through the clues, crossing out squares where someone cannot be and placing people where only one square is left. The case is solved when everyone is placed: the murderer is the one suspect who was alone in a room with the victim. A built-in helper can explain the next logical step if you get stuck.

SudoCrime suits fans of Murdle-style mysteries and logic grids, and readers who want a puzzle with a bit of story. The interface is in Portuguese and it plays in the browser with no account.

Tips
