The Price Games Daily Challenge, round 1 of 5 in Higher or Lower: a forehead thermometer and the question whether its price is higher or lower than $13.44

Price Games is a free browser game about guessing what real Amazon products cost. Each day's Daily Challenge gives every player the same five products in one of its modes, such as exact guesses or higher or lower, and the mode changes from day to day. Eleven modes and live multiplayer rooms sit beside it.

About Price Games

Price Games is a free price-guessing game that runs in the browser at price.games. Every round shows a real product, with its photo, its category and its full store title, and asks you to judge what it sells for. The products come from Amazon, and the catalogue grows as items sell out or are replaced.

The Daily Challenge sits at the top of the home page. It is five rounds, the same for everyone that day, played in one of the game's modes: one day you type exact prices, the next you call each price higher or lower than the figure shown. A short timer runs per round once you start, and when you finish you get a recap, a share result and a mark on your streak. A new challenge comes at midnight UTC.

Outside the daily there are eleven modes to play as often as you like: Precision asks for the exact price, Higher or Lower and Comparison ask you to choose, Underbid wants you close without going over, Riser has you stop a climbing price in time, and Price Match, Odd One Out, Market Basket, Sort It Out, Budget Builder and Chain Reaction each turn prices into a small sorting or matching puzzle. Live rooms let friends play the same products together.

You play as a guest with a made-up name and avatar, with no sign-up. A free account saves your name, streaks and scores to the leaderboard and enters you in a monthly prize draw. It suits anyone who likes shopping, The Price Is Right style guessing, or a quick five-round game each day.

How to play Price Games

  1. Open price.games and press Play on the Daily Challenge card at the top of the home page.
  2. Read the day's mode and press Start; your attempt begins with your first guess.
  3. For each of the five products, look at the photo and title, then give your answer: a price, or Higher or Lower than the price shown.
  4. Answer before the round timer runs out; closer or correct answers score more.
  5. After the fifth round, read the recap with the real prices, and share your result if you like.

Tips

  • Read the full product title: pack size, number of pieces and brand move the price more than the photo suggests.
  • Amazon prices rarely end in round numbers, so in Precision rounds aim for something like 19.99 rather than 20.
  • In Higher or Lower, ask yourself first what you would expect to pay, then compare it to the figure shown.
  • Play a few rounds of the free modes to get a feel for the catalogue before the daily.
