Amountle round 1 of 5 on 27 October 2026: orange and yellow polyhedra settling in a glass jar above a 15 second timer and the how many entry box

Amountle is a daily estimation game. In each of five rounds you watch a pour of objects such as gems or balls fill a container, then guess the count. Your score depends on how close you get, and you can compare it with everyone else's on the day's leaderboard.

About Amountle

Amountle takes the old fairground contest of guessing the sweets in a jar and turns it into a five round daily. Each round drops a batch of 3D objects into a glass container. They can be balls, cubes, twenty sided polyhedra or other shapes, in mixed sizes. Once the pour settles you have 15 seconds to enter a count, and you can spin the jar or shake it to see the pile from another side before you commit.

After each guess the game counts the objects out loud on screen and shows how far off you were. It also shows how your answer compares with everyone else who played that jar. The five rounds are the same for every player on a given date, and the day's total goes on a public leaderboard if you pick a player name. You can play without an account.

Around the daily there are side modes. Over / Under asks whether a jar holds more or less than a given number. Fill gives you a target and has you tap or hold to pour until you think you have hit it. Survival runs until a guess misses, and practice drops the timer. A duel lets you play a set and send it to a friend. Yesterday's puzzle stays open for anyone who missed it, and a streak counter tracks your run.

Amountle is made by Isaac Audet as a side project, with a web version and an iPhone app. The web game shows no ads. An optional Amountle+ purchase adds the full archive of past dailies, streak freezes and a view of where you tend to guess high or low, and the page says purchases never change scores or ranks.

It suits players who want a short daily game built on numbers and a sense of quantity rather than words. A full day takes about two minutes.

How to play Amountle

  1. Open Amountle and press play on today's puzzle. First-time players get a two round tutorial that they can skip.
  2. Watch the objects pour into the jar. Drag to spin it or tap it to shake the pile and see it from another side.
  3. Type your count on the keypad or nudge it with plus and minus, then press the tick before the 15 second timer runs out.
  4. See the true count, how far off you were and how other players did, then move on to the next jar.
  5. After round five, check your total, your rank for the day and the share card for friends.

Tips

  • The game's own tip holds up. Piles hold more than they look, so most people guess low.
  • Count the pieces along the bottom row and up one side, then multiply rather than counting one by one.
  • Big shapes leave wide gaps between them, so scale down when the objects are large compared with the jar.
  • Spin the jar before you answer. A pile can look flat from the front and still be deep at the back.
  • Use practice or survival mode to calibrate on shapes you keep misjudging.
