Ngramble
A familiar word around an unfamiliar slice of letters, in five turns.
Every day: One numbered puzzle a day, the same for everyone: a few fixed letters inside a longer word, and five turns to find the familiar word around them. New puzzle: Midnight, local time.

Ngramble is a daily word game built on a fragment. You see a run of letters fixed in the middle of a longer word, such as GG in a ten-letter word, and you have five turns to find the everyday word that contains it. Guesses are marked Wordle-style, and you can spend a turn to reveal a letter.
About Ngramble
Each Ngramble puzzle shows the length of a hidden word and a short fragment of its letters fixed in place, with blanks around them. The answer is always a familiar word, but many rarer words may fit the same slice, which is where the challenge lies.
You type a valid word; only the blanks need typing, as the known letters are skipped. After each guess, letters are marked: green is exact and becomes fixed, yellow is in the word but elsewhere and does not become fixed, and grey is absent. You have five turns in all, and tapping a blank and pressing Reveal uncovers that letter at the cost of a turn.
The puzzle is numbered and changes at midnight in your time zone, and everyone gets the same word on the same date. It began in 2026 and keeps your results in the browser.
It suits Wordle players who want a puzzle that rewards vocabulary and word structure over letter elimination, and anyone who enjoys spotting the common word hiding among rare ones.

Tips
- Think of common words first: the answer is a familiar word even when rare ones fit.
- Use prefixes and suffixes such as -ING, -ED and RE- to fill the edges quickly.
- Yellow letters do not lock in, so try them in other blanks on the next guess.
- Save Reveal for a blank that splits several possible answers.
