Lingo is the official mobile game of the Lingo TV game show. You are shown the first letter of a five-letter word and get five guesses to find it, with colour clues after each try. The Daily Word mode gives one fresh word a day to solve and share, and you can also play unlimited rounds.

About Lingo - Guess The Word, Daily!

Lingo turns the long-running television word show into a phone game. Each round hides a five-letter word, shows you its first letter, and gives you five guesses, with tiles marking letters in the right place and letters that are in the word but elsewhere.

It is made by Two Way Media, the British studio behind mobile versions of Catchphrase and Tipping Point, under licence for the Lingo format, and has been on the App Store since 2021.

The Daily Word is the part that changes once a day: a single new word to solve, with streak tracking and results you can share with friends. Outside the daily, you can play as many rounds as you like, earning points that move you up ability-matched leagues, filling bingo cards, upgrading letter tiles and building Hot Streak bonuses for runs of correct words.

Compared with Wordle, you get a head start from the first letter but one guess fewer. It suits fans of the show and players who want a daily word to share plus the option to keep playing afterwards.

How to play Lingo - Guess The Word, Daily!

  5. Find the word within five guesses, then share your result.

Tips

  • Your first guess already starts with the right letter, so use the other four places for common letters.
  • Do not repeat letters that have been ruled out; five guesses leave little room.
  • After the daily, play regular rounds to practise and climb your league.
