KoWordle (한글 워들) is a daily Korean word game. You guess a three-syllable Korean word in six tries; each syllable turns green, orange or dark to show whether it is in the right place, elsewhere in the word or absent, and extra hints show which consonants and vowels are involved.

About KoWordle

KoWordle adapts Wordle to Korean at the level of whole syllable blocks. Each day there is one new answer, a Korean word of three syllables, and you type full words as guesses rather than spelling out individual letters.

After each guess every syllable is coloured: green if it is the right syllable in the right place, orange if the syllable is in the answer but in another position, and dark if it does not appear. Because whole-syllable feedback alone would be very hard, the game adds a second layer of hints below the board, at the level of jamo (the consonants and vowels inside each syllable), and colours the keyboard to match.

The help screen's example uses 강아지 (puppy) as the answer, with 선생님 sharing nothing, 아파트 having 아 in the wrong place and 이미지 sharing 지 in the right place. You have six tries.

It suits Korean speakers and learners who want a Wordle that works with real Korean words rather than letter strings.

How to play KoWordle

  1. Type a three-syllable Korean word.
  2. Submit the guess and look at the syllable colours.
  3. Green means the right syllable in the right place; orange means it is in the word elsewhere; dark means it is not in the word.
  4. Check the jamo hints and keyboard colours for which consonants and vowels appear.
  5. Find the word within six tries.

Tips

  • Start with common three-syllable nouns that use frequent jamo.
  • A syllable can be wrong while its consonant or vowel is right; the jamo hints tell you which.
  • Use the keyboard colours to avoid reusing absent consonants and vowels.
