Keyboard Lines
Guess the word from its swipe path across the keyboard.
Every day: One secret word a day, the same for everyone: you see only the line it would draw if swiped across a phone keyboard, and guess the five- to seven-letter word from the path. New puzzle: 06:00 UTC (midnight Mountain Standard Time).

Keyboard Lines draws the path a word would take if you swiped it on a phone keyboard, and asks you to name the word. Clues can reveal the first and last letters, the length, a double letter, or where the line reverses or pauses. There is one numbered word a day.
About Keyboard Lines
Keyboard Lines is a daily word puzzle built around swipe typing. On a phone you can type a word by dragging your finger from letter to letter across the keyboard, which draws a single line. Keyboard Lines shows you only that line, with no letters marked, and asks you to work out the word that would draw it.
There is one secret word a day, the same for everyone, and it is five to seven letters long. You study the shape of the path: where it starts and ends, where it crosses itself, and where it turns. Then you type your guess on the on-screen keyboard and press enter.
If the line is too hard to read, the game offers clues, each revealing one kind of information: the start letter, the stop letter, the count of letters, whether a letter is doubled (like the oo in moon), the reverse letter where the swipe changes direction (like the e in pet), and the pause letter where the swipe briefly stops (like the i in pit). A new word arrives each day at 06:00 UTC, which is midnight Mountain time.
It suits players who like a quick, visual twist on word guessing, and anyone who swipe types and wants to test how well they can read a keyboard path.
How to play Keyboard Lines
- Open Keyboard Lines and look at the line drawn across the keyboard: it is the swipe path of the day's word.
- Trace the path to spot the start, the turns, any crossing points and the end.
- Type your guess on the on-screen keyboard and press Enter.
- If you are stuck, reveal a clue: start letter, stop letter, letter count, a doubled letter, the reverse letter or the pause letter.
- Solve the five- to seven-letter word, and come back for a new one each day.
Tips
- Find the ends of the line first: the start and stop letters narrow the word a lot.
- A sharp corner usually marks a reverse letter where the direction changes; a small loop or kink can mark a pause.
- Count the distinct turns to estimate the length before you spend a clue on the count.
- Watch for a line that doubles back on itself, which can signal a repeated letter.
