iKnowBall share card: Guess the Baller above three footballers and the clue chips Real Madrid, Premier League, France, Midfield and Age 35

iKnowBall is a free daily football guessing game. Each day there is one secret player from the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A or Ligue 1, and every name you guess shows how close it is on club, league, nationality, position and age. Find the player in as few guesses as you can and post your score to the day's table.

About iKnowBall

iKnowBall is a browser game about European football. The daily challenge, dated at the top of the page, hides one footballer, and you find them by guessing other players. The pool covers the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1, with current players and older names from the 1990s onward, each listed under the club they are best known for.

Type a name, pick it from the list and press Guess. The guess goes into your history with a rank number, where a lower number means a closer guess, and a bar that shows how near you are. Under it sit five chips: club, league, nationality, position and age. A green chip is a match: the same club, league or nation, the exact role, or an age within two years. An amber chip means close: the same position group, or an age within five years. A grey chip means no match. After a few guesses the game also offers a hint.

The day is solved when all five attributes line up and the player is revealed. You can then send your score to the daily match table, and the site keeps a leaderboard and a profile. A Practice mode lets you play extra rounds outside the shared daily one.

It sits close to the other player-guessing football games, but its rank number and progress bar tell you how warm each guess is overall, not just attribute by attribute. It suits fans who follow the big European leagues and like working through a squad list in their head.

How to play iKnowBall

  1. Open iknowball.co.uk; the day's challenge is ready with no sign-up.
  2. Type any footballer's name in the box, choose them from the suggestions and press Guess.
  3. Read the five chips on your guess: green means the secret player shares that club, league, nation, exact position or an age within two years; amber means the same position group or an age within five years; grey means no match.
  4. Use the rank number and progress bar to judge how close the guess is, then pick a player who keeps the green chips and changes the grey ones.
  5. Keep guessing until all five attributes match and the day's player is revealed, then submit your score to the daily match table.

Tips

  • Open with a well-known player from a big club so the league and club chips tell you a lot at once.
  • Once the league is green, move between clubs in that league before changing nationality.
  • An amber age chip means within five years: jump about three years either way to tell which side the answer is on.
  • Remember older players count too: a legend from the 1990s is listed under their best-known club.
