Dixio: Daily Word Game
Close two alphabetical walls around the day's secret word until it has nowhere to hide.
Every day: One secret word a day per language, the same for everyone playing in English or Italian, found by guessing words and learning whether it comes before or after each one alphabetically. New puzzle: One new set a day; the maker does not say at what hour.

Dixio is a daily word game for iPhone and Android. A secret word is hiding in the dictionary, and every word you guess tells you only whether the secret comes before it or after it alphabetically. Two walls close in with each guess until one word is left. Everyone playing in the same language gets the same word each day.
About Dixio: Daily Word Game
Any real word counts as a guess. The board shows the two closest words so far, one on each side, with a bar between them standing for the part of the alphabet that is still possible, and every guess stays listed with the direction it sent you, such as lantern, the word is after this. There is a target number of guesses, and beating it earns up to three stars. Three kinds of help are on offer: Play for me makes a guess for you, Letter reveals the next letter and Shrink narrows the range. Each adds to your guess count, so scores stay comparable.
When you find the word, a card shows it with its part of speech, pronunciation, a plain definition and an example line or quote, plus your streak, and the word joins your collection. You can share a result grid that does not give the word away, or send a friend a challenge on the same word and compare how many guesses you each took. There is no timer, and you cannot lose the daily word. Endless mode chains rounds with rising difficulty and a growing multiplier.
Dixio is made by Innovation X SRL in Europe and came to the App Store in September 2026. It plays in English and Italian, each with its own dictionary, and French, German, Spanish and Portuguese are planned. It is free with ads; rewarded videos pay for hints, and a one-time Premium purchase removes ad breaks and makes hints instant without changing their cost. No account is needed and it works offline.

Tips
- Guess near the middle of the remaining range each time, as you would in a number guessing game, to halve the gap.
- Once both walls share the first letters, think of words that start the same way and differ at the next letter.
- Use Letter late in the round, when one more letter would leave only a handful of words.
- Hints add to your guess count, so try a couple of guesses of your own before reaching for one.
