For a classic five-letter Wordle in French, Le Mot gives one word a day and six tries, with an archive that goes back to January 2022. SUTOM changes the format the way the old Motus game show did: the word is six to ten letters long, its first letter is shown, and you still have six tries. Tusmo is built on the same idea and adds a daily series of four longer words after the main one, with past days to replay.
If you want a different kind of word puzzle, Cémantix hides a French word that you find by meaning: every guess gets a temperature showing how close it is, and guesses are unlimited. Pédantix, from the same maker, hides a French Wikipedia page and reveals its introduction word by word as you guess, until you find the title.
For crosswords, Le Monde publishes its daily mots croisés online, the grid printed in the paper, and a small mini crossword on weekdays; both need a subscription for the archive and the mini. Le Monde also has a daily sudoku.
To start, play Le Mot for a quick five letters and SUTOM for a longer word with a head start; Cémantix is a good daily challenge once those are done.
