UOL's Sudoku serves three new grids every day, one each at beginner, intermediate and advanced level. The boards are set for the date on UOL's servers, so every player gets the same three puzzles.

About Sudoku (UOL)

This Sudoku is part of UOL Jogos, the games section of the Brazilian portal UOL, alongside Palavra do Dia, Quando Foi? and the two Conexões games. The page is in Portuguese, but the puzzle itself needs no language.

Each day brings three classic 9 by 9 grids. Iniciante gives more starting numbers and is meant as a warm-up, Intermediário gives a moderate number and asks for more deduction, and Avançado gives fewer and needs strategy. You fill every row, column and 3 by 3 block with the digits 1 to 9 without repeating any.

When you finish all three levels the game congratulates you and invites you back the next day for a new grid. Because the three boards share a date, you can work up through the levels in one sitting or spread them across the day. It suits sudoku players who like a set daily routine with a choice of difficulty.

How to play Sudoku (UOL)

  1. Choose a level: Iniciante, Intermediário or Avançado.
  2. Fill the empty cells so that each row, column and 3 by 3 block contains the digits 1 to 9 exactly once.
  3. Use the given numbers as your starting clues and work out the rest by elimination.
  4. Finish all three levels to complete the day.

Tips

  • Start with Iniciante to warm up before the harder grids.
  • Scan each 3 by 3 block for digits that can only go in one cell.
  • On Avançado, look for rows or columns where a digit is limited to two cells and use that to rule out others.
