StatPad Game is a daily sports stat challenge for baseball, basketball and football. Each grid names a stat category and five rows of requirements, such as a position, a team and a span of years; you pick a player and a season for each row, and that season's stat is added to your score. A percentile shows how close each pick was to the best possible answer.

About StatPad Game

StatPad is a different take on the sports grid. Instead of naming any player who fits, you are trying to name the best one. Each daily grid shows a stat category in the top left, such as home runs, and five rows. Every row has its own requirements, for example an infielder who played for the Braves between 1990 and 2015.

For each row you submit one player and a year. If they meet the requirements, the row fills in with their stats from that season, and the category stat is added to your total: Chipper Jones's 21 home runs in 1997 would add 21 points. Some qualifiers must be met in the same season you choose, while others count if the player met them at any time in their career.

Under each stat a percentile shows how your answer ranks against every valid answer for that row, with 100 percent being the best possible pick. That makes it a game of deep knowledge: the right player is not enough if you choose one of his quieter seasons. Easy Mode is there for a more casual game: you submit only the player, and the best year is chosen for you.

There are separate grids for MLB, the NBA and the NFL, and new ones arrive every day. If a row has you stuck, you can give up on it and move on.

How to play StatPad Game

  1. Open StatPad Game and choose the baseball, basketball or football grid.

  3. For each row, search for a player and select a year that meets its requirements.
  4. Your score grows by that season's total for the day's stat; check the percentile to see how close you were to the best answer.
  5. Fill all five rows, or switch on Easy Mode to let the game pick each player's best year.

Tips

  • Pick each player's peak season for the category, not just any season that qualifies.
  • Read whether a qualifier must be met in the same season or anytime in the career: it changes which years are allowed.
  • Fill the most restrictive row first, while you still have your best candidates available.
  • Use the percentile after each row to learn where the stronger answers lie for next time.
