Stat Countdown
Rate itName NBA players and subtract their season totals to land between 0 and 10.
Every day: One shared NBA puzzle a day: a season, a stat (such as rebounds) and a starting total. Everyone gets the same start and has up to six players to bring it down to between 0 and 10. New puzzle: 00:00 UTC.

Stat Countdown is a daily NBA numbers game. Each day gives everyone the same stat, season and starting total, and you name up to six players whose season totals you subtract to finish between 0 and 10. A free Practice mode gives extra rounds.
About Stat Countdown
Stat Countdown is a browser game for NBA fans that turns season stat totals into a countdown. Each daily round names one regular-season stat and one season, for example rebounds in 2025-26, and gives a starting number. Your job is to bring that number down to anywhere between 0 and 10.
You search for a player by name and pick him. Only then is his total for that stat and season revealed and taken off your score. You can see a player's teams in the search, but never his total before you commit. Go below zero and the pick is a bust: your score stays where it was, but the guess and the player are used up. You have six guesses, and you can win in fewer.
The game rewards a sense of scale more than exact recall. Early picks should take big chunks off with a high-volume starter; the last pick or two call for a bench player or someone with few games whose total fits what is left. A player who was traded counts with all his teams, and only players with at least 10 recorded games that season can be chosen.
The daily puzzle is the same for everyone and changes at midnight UTC. You can play as a guest; signing in by email, Google or Facebook keeps your streak and history across devices. A stats page tracks your current and best streak, and a Practice tab deals fresh rounds whenever you want without touching your daily record. It suits NBA fans who follow box scores and like a puzzle that takes a few minutes.
How to play Stat Countdown
- Open the Daily tab and read the stat, the season and the starting total for today.
- Search for an NBA player by name and choose him from the results.
- His season total for that stat is revealed and subtracted from your remaining score.
- Keep picking different players; a pick that would take you below zero is a bust and costs the guess.
- Finish between 0 and 10 within six guesses to win, then share your result if you like.

Tips
- Start with a starter who played most of the season to take a large share off the total.
- Save a low-minute bench player for the end, when you need a small total to land in the 0 to 10 window.
- Remember that a traded player's total includes every team he played for that season.
- Use Practice to get a feel for the size of season totals before the daily round.
