Scrokkle
Poker hands built like crossword words: place card tiles on a board so every line makes a hand.
Every day: A daily puzzle, scored by time, and a daily bust run, scored by points: build poker hands from card tiles on a board, connected like crossword words. New puzzle: Once a day.

Scrokkle is a tile game from davy.games that crosses poker with a crossword. You place playing-card tiles on a large board so they form poker hands, connected across and down like words. There is a daily puzzle, where you must place and connect every tile and your time is recorded, and a daily bust run where you go for a high score.
About Scrokkle
Scrokkle takes the board of a crossword game and fills it with playing cards. Instead of spelling words, you lay card tiles in lines across and down, and each line you build is played as a poker hand. Hands connect to each other where they cross, the way words do in a crossword, so one card can count in two hands.
The game has several ways to play. In versus, you play against friends in real time. In bust mode, you play solo and go for a high score. In puzzle mode, you are given a set of tiles and must place and connect every one of them.
The daily side comes in two parts. The daily puzzle is a puzzle-mode board for the day; when you finish, the game records your time and offers a line to share, I just completed the daily Scrokkle puzzle in a given time. The daily bust is a bust-mode run for the day, with its own daily bust score to share. Past puzzles are also available.
Scrokkle is made by David L. at davy.games, which also makes 5spell, a five-letter word game with a daily mode. It runs in the browser and is free.
How to play Scrokkle
- Open the daily page and choose the daily puzzle or the daily bust.
- Place card tiles on the board in lines across and down; each line is scored as a poker hand.
- Connect your hands where they cross, as words cross in a crossword.
- In the daily puzzle, place and connect every tile as fast as you can; in the daily bust, score as many points as you can.
- Share your time or score when you finish.
Tips
- Plan crossing points: a card shared by two hands should help both.
- Look for flushes and straights that can run through several crossings.
- In the puzzle, place the hardest cards first and fill in the easy ones later.
