NFL Chainle
Rate itLink two NFL players through a chain of teammates who shared a recorded game.
Every day: One pair of NFL players a day, a start and a finish, the same for everyone on the same data version, to be linked through teammates who shared a recorded game. New puzzle: Midnight UTC (00:00 UTC).

NFL Chainle gives you two NFL players each day and asks you to connect them through teammates. Every link must be a pair of players who appeared for the same team in the same recorded game, and the board shows the shortest chain it knows so you can try to match it.
About NFL Chainle
NFL Chainle is an American football take on the teammate chain puzzle, part of WordleCup, a fan-made site of daily sports puzzles that also runs soccer and NBA versions of the same game. Each day at midnight UTC it sets a start player and a finish player, and your job is to build a path between them one teammate at a time.
You type a name into the search box, and the game accepts it as a link only when its records show both players appearing for the same team in the same game. Each accepted link shows the match record that proves it, with the date. When the player you just added has a verified link to the finish player, the game closes the chain for you. A counter under the board shows how many links you have used and the best the board allows, so a short chain is the goal.
The player pool is small and curated: about 74 players from 9 teams, drawn from Super Bowl and playoff gamebooks and team media guides, with names such as Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Peyton Manning and Amon-Ra St. Brown. The full list is on the page, so you can browse it before you guess. The game says plainly that a missing link means its records do not prove one, not that the players never played together.
If you get stuck you can undo a detour, ask for a hint or reveal the solution; hints and unverified picks show in your score but do not stop you finishing. A Practice mode draws other pairs from the same collection without touching your daily result, and progress is kept in your browser with no account. It suits NFL fans who know who moved where, and players of other teammate chain games looking for a quick daily round.
How to play NFL Chainle
- Open the Daily tab and read the start and finish players on the board.
- Type a player who appeared for the same team as the start player in the same game, and pick the name from the list.
- Check the match record the game shows under the new link.
- Keep adding teammates from the last player in your chain, following players who moved to new teams.
- When your latest player has a verified link to the finish player, the game completes the chain and your result can be shared.
Tips
- Browse the player pool on the page first: only about 74 players are in it, so you are choosing from a short list.
- Look for players who changed teams, such as a receiver on his second club; they are the bridges between rosters.
- A shared franchise is not enough on its own: the two players need a shared game in the records, so pick teammates from the same season.
- Undo a detour rather than pressing on; your link count is what you compare with the board best.
Questions
What time does NFL Chainle reset?
The daily pair changes at 00:00 UTC. If midnight passes during your round, you can finish it before the new board loads.
Can I play more than one pair a day?
Yes. The Practice tab draws other pairs from the same collection and does not change your daily result.
Why was a real teammate rejected?
The game only accepts links it can prove from its own match records, which cover selected games and teams, not every roster.
Do I need an account?
No. Daily and practice progress are saved in your browser, so clearing site data or changing device can remove them.
