movie.wtf on 25 October 2026 after a first pick: The Others' clue card with year, runtime, genres, score, age rating, budget and box office below today's film posters

movie.wtf is a daily movie guessing game inspired by Wordle. Instead of typing, you pick a film from a basket of random movies, and each wrong pick shows how it compares with the answer on year, runtime, genre, score, age rating, budget and box office, in green, yellow or grey with arrows. Everyone gets the same film each day, and a streak counts the days you solve it.

About movie.wtf

movie.wtf turns the attribute-guessing style of the -dle games into a pick-from-a-list puzzle. Every player gets the same movie each day.

You are shown a basket of random film posters and pick the one you think it is. If you miss, a clue card shows how your pick compares with the answer: release year, runtime, genres, audience score, age rating, budget and box office. Green is an exact match, yellow is close, grey is no match, and arrows say whether the answer is higher or lower. A row of six dots counts the picks you have left, and each pick narrows the basket until you find the film or run out.

The game is about films only: there is no TV series mode on the site. When you finish the daily you can keep playing with random films, and you can share your result. The site can be played in English, German, Polish, Russian and Turkish.

It uses data and posters from TMDB and suits players who want a quick film puzzle without having to recall titles from scratch.

How to play movie.wtf

  1. Open movie.wtf and read the short how-to box at the top.
  2. Tap a poster in the basket of 25 films to open its card, then press Pick this movie.
  3. If it is wrong, read the clue card: green is exact, yellow is close, grey is no match, arrows point higher or lower.
  4. Use the clues to rule out posters and choose your next pick; the row of six dots counts the picks you have left.
  5. Find the film, share your result, and come back after midnight for a new one.

Tips

  • Your first pick is a free probe: choose a film from the middle of the year range.
  • Runtime is a strong clue for separating epics from comedies.
  • Age rating and genre together rule out most of the basket fast.
