Animdle plays the opening or ending theme of an anime and asks you to name the show. There is one opening and one ending each day, each with a hardcore version, and a wrong guess or a skip costs one of your hearts.
About Animdle
Animdle is a daily guessing game about anime theme songs. The opening mode plays the day's opening sequence and you search a list of titles to name the series it belongs to. The ending mode does the same with an ending theme. You have a row of five hearts: each wrong guess or skip uses one, and losing them all ends the round.
The video can be switched off if you want to avoid spoilers, so you play by ear alone, and the site marks clips that may give away a plot point. Hardcore versions of both modes are there for players who want a tougher round. The title search suggests shows as you type, including films and spin-offs, so you need to pick the right entry of a long series.
When the round ends, the answer screen shows the show's art, the song's name and the full clip, with your played count, win rate, current streak and record, share buttons, and a link to yesterday's puzzle. It is free in the browser with ads and needs no account. Its daily date follows Japan time, so new songs arrive at midnight in Tokyo, which is 15:00 UTC.
How to play Animdle
- Pick a mode: openings, endings, or their hardcore versions.
- Play the clip, with or without the video, and listen to the song.
- Type in the search box and pick the anime from the suggestions, then press Guess, or press Skip if you are unsure.
- Each miss or skip costs one of your five hearts; name the show before they run out.
- Read the answer, the song title and your stats on the results screen, and share your result if you like.
- Come back after midnight Japan time for the next opening and ending.

Tips
- Turn the video off if you have not finished a series and want to avoid spoilers.
- Replay the clip before guessing: the first few seconds of a song are often the hardest part.
- Long-running shows have many entries in the search list, so check you pick the series and not a film or sequel.
- Play yesterday's puzzle from the results screen if you missed a day.
