Kropki board: a grid with six pairs of lettered coloured dots and a small worked example beside it

Kropki (dots) is a daily flow puzzle on the Polish puzzle site Łamaniec. You connect each pair of matching coloured dots with a line that runs horizontally and vertically, without crossing other lines, until every square of the board is filled.

About Kropki (Łamaniec)

Kropki is one of the daily games on Łamaniec, next to Kraciak, Szarada, Literada and Fraziak. The board is a grid with several pairs of coloured dots, each pair marked with the same letter, for example six pairs on a 44-cell board.

You drag from one dot to its partner to lay a path. Paths move only up, down, left and right, and they may not cross or overlap. The puzzle is solved when every pair is joined and every cell of the grid is covered by some path; counters show how many pairs you have joined and how many cells are filled.

A new board arrives each day, and the archive keeps earlier ones. The site is in Polish, but the puzzle itself needs no words. It suits players who enjoy flow-style puzzles and want one board a day.

How to play Kropki (Łamaniec)

  1. Open Kropki to load the day's board.
  2. Pick a coloured dot and drag a path to the dot with the same colour and letter.
  3. Move only horizontally and vertically, without crossing other paths.
  4. Join every pair.
  5. Make sure every cell is filled to complete the board.

Tips

  • Join pairs that sit next to the edge first; their routes have the fewest choices.
  • Corner cells must be filled too, so plan paths that sweep through them.
  • If a cell would be left empty, reroute a nearby path through it.
