KelimeLink is a daily Turkish word-association puzzle inspired by Linxicon. You get a start word and a target word, and you type in related words; any two words close enough in meaning join up, and you win when an unbroken chain connects the start to the target.

About KelimeLink

KelimeLink is a Turkish take on Linxicon, built from scratch for the Turkish language. Every day at 03:00 Turkish time a new pair of words is published for all players, and the aim is to connect them in as few words as possible.

You type any Turkish word onto the board. The game measures how close in meaning it is to every word already there, using the open ConceptNet Numberbatch word vectors. If two words score 26 percent similarity or more, a link appears between them. Keep adding words until a continuous path runs from the start word to the target. Words must be in the game's dictionary and at least two letters long, and you cannot lose: you can keep guessing until you get there.

The fastest players with the fewest words each day are recorded as the day's record holders. After the daily, Practice mode gives unlimited random pairs with hints, and VS mode lets you race friends on the same pair in a private room. If you think two words should connect but do not, you can suggest the pair for review.

It suits Turkish speakers who like lateral thinking and word association more than spelling.

How to play KelimeLink

  1. Read the day's start word and target word.
  2. Type a Turkish word that is related in meaning to one of the words on the board.
  3. Watch for links: any two words at 26 percent similarity or more are joined.
  4. Keep adding words to build a bridge from the start word toward the target.
  5. Finish when an unbroken chain connects the two, using as few words as you can.

Tips

  • Think of broad words that sit between two topics; they tend to link to many others.
  • Work from both ends: add words close to the target as well as the start.
  • Concrete nouns usually link more reliably than idioms or figurative meanings.
