About DailyPlay Crossword Midi

The Midi is the middle size of DailyPlay's three daily crosswords. Its 9 by 9 grid holds around 20 clues, enough for some wordplay without the commitment of a full puzzle. A timer runs from the first square, and your time goes on the day's share card.

There is one Midi a day and every player gets the same grid. Hints, a calendar of earlier puzzles and a streak are part of the page, so a missed day can be made up later.

DailyPlay is run by Chris Benjaminsen through GreatGamesNetwork ApS, with no ads and optional subscriptions. The Midi suits solvers who finish the Mini too fast and do not always have time for the Maxi.

How to play DailyPlay Crossword Midi

1. Open today's Crossword Midi on DailyPlay.
2. Tap a square or a clue to select an entry, and tap again to switch between across and down.
3. Type answers; the timer runs until the grid is complete.
4. Use crossing letters to work out the harder clues.
5. Fill the grid correctly to finish and share your time.

Tips

• Start with the short fill-in-the-blank clues: they give crossing letters quickly.
• A question mark at the end of a clue usually means wordplay.
• Check plurals and tenses: the clue and the answer agree.
