CodyCross is a long-running mobile crossword app from Fanatee where every clue is a bit of trivia. Besides its world map of levels it has Today's Crossword, a Small and a Midsize grid that change each day and are the same for every player.
About CodyCross Today's Crossword
CodyCross is a mobile crossword game from Fanatee, a studio founded in Brazil, and has been on the App Store since 2017. Its framing is a friendly alien called Cody who has come to Earth to learn about our world, so each clue is a short piece of trivia and each grid hides a secret word.
The main game is a map of themed worlds with hundreds of puzzles you play at your own pace. The daily part is Today's Crossword: each day there is a Small grid of about ten clues and a Midsize grid of around two dozen, dated and shared by all players, which is why answer sites publish them by date. The app also has Today's Password, a daily word guess, and a Daily Streak.
You fill each answer from its clue using the on-screen keyboard; letters you place also appear in the crossing answers. Paid hints reveal letters if you are stuck.
The app is free with ads, and a subscription removes ads and adds extra puzzles. It suits trivia fans who like short, clue-driven crosswords on a phone.
