Games like Worldle: daily country guessing games

Worldle asks you to name a country from its outline, with distance and direction after each miss. MapMorph and Statele keep that outline and those clues, Flagle, WhereTaken and Tradle swap the outline for a flag, a photo or a chart, and Globle drops the picture for a globe that warms as you get closer.

The games closest to Worldle still show you a shape and steer each miss with distance and direction. MapMorph gives you a country silhouette and six guesses, and some days the silhouette is two neighbouring countries joined together and you name both. Statele, from Worldle's makers Teuteuf, uses the outline of a US state, and Francele, also from Teuteuf, the outline of a French department. Vexdle has a Shapes mode that turns the outline at an angle and answers each guess with distance, direction and continent; it opens in Portuguese, with English one switch away. GeoGraphle has a zooming silhouette among its six daily modes, and GeoDuo shows only one border line and asks for the two countries it separates. Geographly starts with an outline in five tries and then asks about the same country's neighbours, capitals, flags, area and population, and the Daily Map Challenge shows ten outlines in their place on the map. Two games put you against the clock instead: Guess the Country by Its Shape on Quizebra zooms out from five outlines over twenty seconds each while you pick from four names, and Border Guesser traces seven borders while you hold a button, so you name each country as early as you can.

Other games keep the one hidden country and the distance clues but change what you look at. Flagle uncovers a flag piece by piece, WhereTaken and Viewdle show a photo, Passportle a blurred passport cover, Tradle a chart of exports and Pyrametrics a population pyramid. Globle drops the picture entirely: every country you name is coloured on a globe, warmer as you get closer. Hemiscope, GeoCue and Bored Panda's Guess The Country add comparisons of population, area and flag colours to the distance and direction, Shrimply hands you a clue that gets easier with each miss, and Countryle and Geodle work almost only from facts such as continent, population, climate and religion. Capitalle and Globle: Capitals play the same way with capital cities.

If you would rather turn Worldle around, Mapster names a country and asks you to draw its outline, GeoTracer has you trace it on a globe with no borders, and Country Draw has you sketch a missing country back onto a real map. Travle asks you to walk from one country to another by naming every country in between, Neighborle and Flank want all the borders of one country, and GeoGraph counts the borders between your guess and the answer. GeoGrid fills a three by three grid with countries that match two clues, Geozee places nine countries in scoring categories, and Geopolitix sorts five countries by a statistic. WhenTaken and TimeGuessr ask for the place and the year of five photos; more games of that kind are in our guide to games like TimeGuessr (/games-like-timeguessr).

Start with MapMorph if you want another outline to guess after Worldle, Flagle or Francele if you want the same rules from the same makers, and Globle if you want the hunt without a picture. Flag games have their own guide (/daily-flag-games), photo games are in our guide to games like GeoGuessr (/games-like-geoguessr), all of Teuteuf's daily games are on the Teuteuf games page (/teuteuf-games), and every daily geography game we list is on the daily geography games page (/daily-geography-games).
