Border Guesser's Daily Challenge for October 18th, 2026 (Europe): the red border of country 1 of 7 traced to 13 percent, beside the DRAW button and answer box

Border Guesser is a geography game in which a country's border is drawn line by line while you hold a button, and you try to name the country before the outline is complete. The Daily Challenge has seven countries a day from one continent, the same for everyone, with an archive of past days.

About Border Guesser

Border Guesser is a geography quiz from JoySpark Games, played in the browser and in apps for iPhone and Android. The board starts empty. While you hold the DRAW button, the border of a country is traced on the screen, piece by piece, and you type your answer as soon as you think you know it.

The less of the border you need, the better your score. A progress bar shows how much of the outline has been drawn, and the results list each country with the percentage you needed and the time you took. A coastline with a long boot or a ruler-straight desert line can give a country away early; small inland states take longer.

The Daily Challenge is dated and the same for every player. On October 6th, 2026 it was seven countries from Africa; on October 18th it was Europe. The home page has a calendar archive of earlier challenges, a streak counter and a share button for your score. The apps add a practice mode by continent.

The website has no ads and needs no account; your streak and results are kept in the browser. The Android app is listed on Google Play as containing ads and in-app purchases. The web version first went live in May 2026 and its changelog shows steady updates since, including the archive, a streak counter and a calendar that shows your trophy for each day.

How to play Border Guesser

  1. Open the site and press Play Today's Challenge.
  2. Hold the DRAW button: the border of the first country is traced on the board while you hold it.
  3. Let go and type the country's name in Your answer as soon as you recognise the shape.
  4. Work through all seven countries; the less of each border you needed, the better your trophy.
  5. Check your results, share your score and come back tomorrow to keep the streak.

Tips

  • The challenge names its continent at the top, so think about which countries of that region have distinctive edges.
  • Coastlines and straight colonial borders tend to show up sooner than you expect; use them.
  • Use the archive to practise on earlier days before trying the current one.
