Stumpd mixes Wordle with cricket. Each day there is one mystery IPL player, the same for everyone, and you guess by typing player names. The letters light up green when they are right and in the right place and yellow when they are in the name but somewhere else, so each guess narrows down the spelling of the answer. You have six tries.

Besides the daily puzzle there is a Challenge Hard Mode with no clues and no hints, just name matching, and a live multiplayer mode for playing against friends in real time. Missed days can be played from the archive.

How to play Stumpd

1. Open today's Stumpd.
2. Type the name of an IPL cricketer as your guess.
3. Read the colours: green is the right letter in the right place, yellow is in the name elsewhere.
4. Use the letters to pick a better-fitting player.
5. Find the secret cricketer within six tries.

Tips

• Start with a short, common first name to test frequent letters.
• Think about team squads as well as spelling once a few letters are fixed.
• Try Hard Mode only once you know the player list well.
