Noggle #620 Expired Futures, 21 October 2026: an empty grid matching four films with the year they are set in, release year and imagined future, clues below

Noggle is the daily logic-grid puzzle on nibble.games. Each day brings a numbered, themed grid built on real facts, such as four films and the futures they imagined, with a list of clues to match everything up. You start with five stars and lose one for each hint.

About Noggle

Noggle is a classic logic-grid puzzle, the kind where a few clues are enough to work out who did what and where. Each daily puzzle has a theme drawn from real facts, and its categories, such as names, awards and places, form a grid of yes and no cells.

You read the clues and tap cells to mark a check for a match or a cross for no match; when you place a check, the game crosses out the rest of its row and column for you, and a counter at the top says how many pairs are left to find. In the answer grid every row and column gets exactly one check, so elimination does much of the work. When the answer grid is full you press Ready to Score. You begin with five stars, a hint costs one, and the result can be shared. Each puzzle comes with a short fact related to its theme, such as Liechtenstein once being available to rent for corporate events.

Puzzles are written for their date and numbered, so everyone gets the same one; on 21 October 2026, Back to the Future Day, puzzle #620 matched Akira, Back to the Future II, Moon Zero Two and Rollerball with the years they are set in and the futures they predicted. A first visit starts with a short tutorial grid, and a calendar lets you play prior days. Noggle sits alongside MapTap, Swapple, Kuromasu and other dailies on nibble.games, with a Discord for players.

It suits fans of logic puzzles from puzzle magazines and anyone who likes a little trivia mixed into their deduction.

How to play Noggle

  1. Open Noggle; on a first visit, play the short tutorial grid or press Today! for the day's puzzle.
  2. Read the theme and the clues below the grid.
  3. Tap a cell to mark a check for a match or a cross for no match; a check crosses out the rest of its row and column.
  4. Use elimination: each row and column of the answer grid at the top gets exactly one check.
  5. Use a hint if stuck, at the cost of one of your five stars.
  6. When the answer grid is full, press Ready to Score and share your stars.

Tips

  • Start with clues that say two things are not linked: they fill in no-cells quickly.
  • Once a match is found, cross out the rest of its row and column.
  • Carry facts between sub-grids: a match in one category often settles another.
  • Play the tutorial first if logic grids are new to you.
