Movie Globe
Rate itFind where the day's film is set, from its clues.
on movieglobe.io

Movie Globe gives you clues about places in films and asks you to drop a pin on a globe where each one is. The closer your pin, the more points you score, up to 500 a day. A new set arrives at midnight Eastern Time, with past days in an archive.
About Movie Globe
Movie Globe is a daily map game for film fans. Instead of naming a film, you work out where a film takes place: each clue describes a movie by its year, its director or its cast and asks for the place its story is set, and you drop a pin on a satellite globe where you think it is.
It is made by Sam Shulman and Alex Nunan, the pair behind Movie Grid, Movie Snake, Movie Pyramid, Movie Reveal and Sports Reveal, and it links to those games from its header. The first game went up on 23 June 2026, and the game itself says it was inspired by GeoSports.
A day has five clues. Some answers are a whole state or country, where any pin inside the region scores full marks and a green outline shows the region once you get it; others are a single spot, where you need to be close. Each clue is worth up to 100 points, so a day runs out of 500. If you cannot tell which film a clue means, the hint shows its title for 10 points. Hard mode takes the place names and borders off the globe. Progress saves as you go, and at the end you see your total, how you placed among the day's players, and a row of coloured squares to share.
Most daily film games ask for a title: Framed shows stills, Movie Grid asks for films that fit two clues. Movie Globe asks for a place instead, which puts it closer to WhenTaken Movies or to map games such as TimeGuessr, with written clues rather than pictures. It suits people who remember where films are set and like some geography with their trivia.
How to play Movie Globe
- Open movieglobe.io to load the day's game; the date shows above the first clue.
- Read the clue and work out which film it describes and where that film is set.
- Drag and zoom the globe, tap to drop your pin, then press Submit guess.
- See how far off you were and how many of the 100 points you scored, then go on to the next clue.
- Use Hint if you are stuck: it shows the film's title and costs 10 points.
- After the fifth clue press Show results to see your total out of 500 and how you ranked, and share the squares.

Tips
- Read whether the clue asks for a city, a country or a spot: for a country or state, any pin inside it scores in full.
- Zoom in before you confirm a city: a pin close to the right city scores far more than one somewhere in the right country.
- Think about where the story is set, not where the film was shot, unless the clue says otherwise.
- Save the hint for clues where you cannot place the film at all; 10 points is less than a wild guess usually loses.
- Missed days can be played from Archived Games.
Questions
What time does Movie Globe reset?
At midnight Eastern Time. The site works out the day's game from the date in New York.
How is Movie Globe scored?
Each of the five clues is worth up to 100 points by how close your pin is to the answer, so a day's best total is 500. Where the answer is a whole state or country, any pin inside it scores full points.
What does the hint do?
It shows the title of the film behind the clue, and takes 10 points off that clue.
What is hard mode?
Hard mode hides the place names and borders on the globe, so you find the place from the satellite picture alone.
Who makes Movie Globe?
Sam Shulman and Alex Nunan, who also make Movie Grid, Movie Snake, Movie Pyramid, Movie Reveal and Sports Reveal.
Can I play earlier days?
Yes. Every game since the first on 23 June 2026 is under Archived Games.
Is Movie Globe free?
Yes. It plays free in a browser with no sign-up, and the page shows ads.
