Krydsord (Information)
A small Danish arrow-word crossword, new each day in Information's games section.
Every day: One Danish arrow-word crossword per day (8 by 13 grid), the same for every player. New puzzle: Midnight Danish time (CET/CEST).

Krydsord is the daily crossword on the games page of the Danish newspaper Information. It is an arrow-word puzzle: the clues sit inside the grid with arrows showing which way each answer runs, and a new grid appears every day.
About Krydsord (Information)
Krydsord is one of the puzzles at information.dk/spil, the games section of the Copenhagen daily Dagbladet Information, next to Ordnød, Ordhjul, Ordjagt and sudoku. Like the others it is delivered through Keesing's web player, which serves a new puzzle for each day.
The format is the arrow word (in Danish usually just called krydsord), common in Scandinavian papers: there is no separate clue list. Instead, some squares of the grid hold short clues, and an arrow next to each shows the direction the answer is written. A recent puzzle was 8 squares wide and 13 tall, with 38 answers to fill.
The compact size makes it a puzzle for a coffee break rather than an evening, and because everything is in Danish, from the clues to the answers, it suits Danish speakers and advanced learners who enjoy wordplay in the language.
How to play Krydsord (Information)
- Pick a clue square in the grid and note the direction of its arrow.
- Type the answer into the white squares in that direction, starting next to the clue.
- Use crossing letters from answers you have already filled to work out harder clues.
- Fill the whole grid to finish the day's puzzle.
Tips
- Start with short clues: two- and three-letter answers give you crossing letters quickly.
- Arrow-word clues are brief, often a single word, so think of synonyms.
- Remember that answers can contain æ, ø and å.
