CDL Wordle

CDL Wordle takes the guess-the-player format that football and esports fans know and points it at the Call of Duty League, the professional Call of Duty circuit. Each day the site picks one pro, and every visitor that day is hunting for the same name.

You type part of a gamertag into the search box, choose the player from the list that drops down and press Guess. The guess appears as a row of cells: nationality, age, championship rings, match wins and whether that player has been a teammate of the mystery pro. A green cell is an exact match, a yellow one means a number is close (age within two years, rings within one, wins within five), and an arrow beside a number tells you whether the answer is higher or lower. You have six guesses to land on the right player.

The player pool holds 157 current and past CDL pros, so champions sit beside less famous names, and the same answer can come round again within a few months. A countdown shows how long until the next player. Your stats, with games played, win rate and streaks, are kept in the browser, and a share button copies an emoji grid of your result without giving the answer away. A few buttons and the stats box are still labelled in Chinese.

It is free to play in a browser with no account, and the page carries banner ads beside and below the board. It suits Call of Duty League followers who know the rosters well; a casual Call of Duty player will find the ring and win counts hard to read without that knowledge.
