Witstep
Rate itOne short logic or maths puzzle a day, from a truth-teller riddle to an equation to complete.
on witstep.vercel.app

Witstep sets one bite-sized puzzle a day: place numbers to make an equation true, find who tells the truth, or fill the gap in a sequence. Solving it keeps a daily streak going, and themed Journey paths of levels are there to play at your own pace. The daily puzzles come round again every 13 days.
About Witstep
Witstep is a small, free puzzle site built around single steps. Every day the Daily page has one shared puzzle, and the kind changes from day to day. On 20 October 2026 it was Scale the Product: five number tiles, 2, 6, 7, 9 and 13, and the template ? x (? - ?) = 42, with three of the tiles to place in the right slots. Other days bring a riddle about three guardians of whom one tells the truth, a river crossing, a podium order to work out from clues, a water jug measure, a matchstick move or a number pattern to complete.
You tap tiles or choose an answer, then press Check answer. A Hint button gives a nudge, and after a solve you can see why the answer works. The Daily summary then marks the day solved and shows your streak, with a button to replay the puzzle.
Beside the daily there is the Journey: themed paths of levels to play whenever you like. At the time of writing they cover Number Sequences (15 levels), Logic and Paradox (12) and Then and Therefore (11), with a Surprise me button for a random question. The home page counts 97 questions on the site.
The daily is not new every day: the 13 daily puzzles have run in the same order since late August 2026, so a regular player meets each one again about every two weeks. Witstep runs in the browser on a desktop or a phone, needs no account and says it has no paywalls or ads. Its questions are short and gentle, which suits players who want a quick brainteaser rather than a long grid.
How to play Witstep
- Open the Daily page to see the day's puzzle.

- Tap the number tiles into the slots, or pick your answer.
- Press Check answer; use Hint if you are stuck, and See why after a solve.
- Come back the next day to extend your streak, or play levels from the Journey paths.

Tips
- In arrange-the-numbers puzzles, start from the target: list its factors or the sums that reach it, then fit the tiles.
- In truth-and-liar puzzles, assume each speaker is the truthful one in turn and look for a contradiction.
- Number sequence questions often hide two patterns alternating; check the odd and even positions separately.
