Treasure Guessr shows you a close-up map of a hidden spot and a world map below it. You pan and zoom the world map until you think you are on the spot, then dig. A new numbered treasure comes each day in Normal and Expert, and players share more treasures on Discord.
About Treasure Guessr
Treasure Guessr is a map-reading game built on OpenStreetMap. The screen is split in two. The top half shows the treasure's location close up, as a street map with buildings, paths and labels, with four more zoom levels that unlock every 30 seconds (or at once with the skip button) to show more of the surroundings. The bottom half is a world map. You navigate it, under a five-minute timer in Normal, until you think you have found the spot, then press Dig here.
The tutorial example puts the treasure under the Eiffel Tower, but the daily spots can be anywhere. Each day brings a numbered Daily Challenge, the same for everyone, in a Normal version and a harder Expert one. Scores are shared on the game's Discord, where players also post community treasures; you can make your own with Create custom treasure.
The game is credited to maflebel and antoine of Pink Bean Studio. It suits players who like reading maps more than recognising landmarks from photos: the clues are street names, rivers, parks and the shape of the roads.
A dig in the wrong place marks the miss on the world map and the clock keeps running, so a few test digs help narrow the area. Finding the spot shows your time and the zooms you used, keeps a daily streak and gives a result to share with friends. Beyond the daily there are community treasures and themed treasure packs, and you can bury a treasure of your own for others to find.
How to play Treasure Guessr
- Open Treasure Guessr and choose Normal or Expert for today's Daily Challenge, then press Let's go.
- Study the close-up street map at the top; more zoom levels unlock every 30 seconds, or skip ahead to unlock them sooner.
- Pan and zoom the world map at the bottom toward where you think the spot is.
- Put the cross on the spot and press Dig here; a miss is marked on the map and you can dig again while the timer runs.
- When you find it, see your time and zooms used, keep your streak and share the result, or try a community treasure.

Tips
- Step out to the widest zoom level on the top map first: coastlines, rivers and big roads are easier to find on a world map than a single street.
- Read the street and place labels; their language often tells you the country.
- Zoom in on the world map only once you are sure of the city, to save time.
- Try Normal before Expert until you are used to the controls.
Questions
Is there a new treasure every day?
Yes. Each day has a numbered Daily Challenge, the same for every player, in Normal and Expert.
How long do I have?
The Normal daily gives five minutes. Zoom levels on the top map unlock every 30 seconds, and a wrong dig only marks the miss, so you can keep digging until time runs out.
Can I play more than the daily?
Yes, community treasures are shared on the game's Discord, and you can create your own.
Who made Treasure Guessr?
The game credits maflebel and antoine of Pink Bean Studio.
What time does the daily change?
At midnight by your device's date. The game numbers each day from 19 June 2025, when it counted Daily Challenge #1.
Does Treasure Guessr have ads or need an account?
No. The daily plays straight away with no sign-up, and the game page carries no ads.
