Sharkdle is a daily guessing game about sharks. You type a species and see how it compares with the mystery shark on family, order, genus, size, depth and when it was discovered, then narrow it down within your attempts. Around the daily game sit an infinite mode, a story map and a browsable shark archive.
About Sharkdle
Sharkdle is a -dle game for shark fans. The daily challenge has one mystery species, the same for everyone, and a profile with six traits: family, order, genus, size, depth and discovery. Each species you guess is compared with the mystery shark on all six, filling the profile in until you can pin it down. Year of discovery gets an arrow saying whether the answer is older or newer.
The daily board has three tabs, Sharks, Relatives and Mixed, each with its own mystery species for the day and 12 attempts. The day turns over at midnight UTC. Signed-in players can spend pearls, earned by playing, to reveal one trait.
If you get stuck, the Sharchive lists shark species with their classification, images and details, and can be filtered by what you have learned so far. It doubles as a field guide.
Beyond the daily game, Sharkdle has grown into a small world: an Infinite mode with XP, crates and streaks, a practice mode, a story map, a season pass, achievements, and daily, monthly and all-time leaderboards. An account is only needed to save stats and XP.
How to play Sharkdle
- Press Play Daily Challenge and pick the Sharks, Relatives or Mixed tab.
- Type a species name as the game lists it (White Shark, Tiger Shark) and press Guess.
- Read which of family, order, genus, size, depth and discovery match the mystery species; matches fill in its profile.
- Use the matches, or Filter to Sharchive, to narrow the field and guess again.
- Name the species before your 12 attempts run out.

- Depth and size split similar species apart once you know the family.
- Use the Sharchive filter to list the species that fit what you know.
- Names follow the game's own list: the great white is White Shark, so pick from the suggestions rather than typing a common nickname.
