Pinpoint (Hemiscope)
Rate itPlace the day's country on five sliders of real statistics, scored out of 500.
on hemiscope.com

Pinpoint gives you one country a day and five statistics, such as average temperature, life expectancy, obesity rate, beer per person or population. Each slider runs from a country at the low end to one at the high end; you drag a marker to where you think today's country falls, lock in, and score up to 100 a slider.
About Pinpoint (Hemiscope)
Pinpoint is the statistics game on Hemiscope. Each numbered daily names one country, Azerbaijan on 21 October 2026, and shows five sliders. Every slider is a real statistic with a country near each end of the world's range and the middle country marked: average temperature from Canada to Burkina Faso, life expectancy from Nigeria to Monaco, population from Tuvalu to India.
You drag each marker to where you think the day's country sits, press Lock in, and see the real values beside yours. Each slider scores up to 100 by how close you land, so a day is out of 500, with 300 as a pass. The stats change from day to day and include population, area, life expectancy, average height, obesity rate, happiness, tourists, Big Mac prices and beer per person, in metric or imperial units. A share grid gives one square per slider, and New puzzle deals a random country to practise with.
It is one of the eight dailies on Hemiscope, a free collection of short geography and history puzzles that also includes the mystery country game, Atlas, Timeline, Vault, Ladder and Odd One Out. An Answers page lists every finished day with its real values. You can play in the browser or in the free iPhone app, which adds live duels against a friend and an endless Survival mode.
It suits players who like country statistics and would rather estimate a number than name a place.

Tips
- Start from what you are sure of: is the country big or small, rich or poor, hot or cold.
- Use the middle country mark: decide first whether today's country is above or below it.
- Population and area spread over a huge range, so a rough guess on the right side still scores well.
