The Easy Daily Mini Str8ts grid of 20 October 2026: a 6x6 board of white and black cells with clues, the rules, a one-star rating, a timer and Easy, Moderate and Tough buttons

Daily Mini Str8ts is the small version of the Str8ts number puzzle: three 6x6 grids a day at three difficulty levels, the same for everyone. Fill the white cells so every compartment forms a run of consecutive numbers. It is free to play in the browser or to print.

About Daily Mini Str8ts

Daily Mini Str8ts is a page on str8ts.com, the home of the Str8ts number puzzle, with grids by Andrew Stuart. Because the minis are smaller than the classic 9x9 Daily Str8ts, the site offers three of them each day, one at each difficulty level, under a single number and date such as #6361 for 20 October 2026. Easy, Moderate and Tough buttons beside the grid switch between them.

The rules are those of Str8ts on a 6x6 board. You fill the white cells so that no number repeats in a row or column. Runs of white cells between black cells, called compartments, must each hold a straight: a set of consecutive numbers in any order. A number printed in a black cell is ruled out for the rest of its row and column but is not part of any straight.

You can solve directly on the page, with a timer, a star difficulty rating for each grid, undo and redo, a restart button, pencil notes and an optional on-screen number pad, or open a printable version. The page links to the rules, a video explanation and the step-by-step Str8ts solver for when you are stuck.

It suits sudoku players who want a short daily number puzzle, and newcomers who want to learn Str8ts before taking on the full-size daily grid.

How to play Daily Mini Str8ts

  1. Open the day's page; the Easy grid loads first, and the Easy, Moderate and Tough buttons switch between the three.
  2. Click a white cell and type a number from 1 to 6; no number may repeat in a row or column.
  3. Make every compartment of white cells a straight of consecutive numbers, in any order.
  4. Use the numbers in black cells to rule out options in their row and column.
  5. Use notes, undo and redo as you go, or open the printable version to solve on paper.

Tips

  • Start with short compartments: a two-cell run next to a fixed number often has only one or two options.
  • On a 6x6 grid, a compartment of five or six cells must contain 3 and 4, which narrows the rest quickly.
  • Treat a black cell's number as already used in its row and column.
  • Play the easy mini first each day to warm up for the hard one.

Questions

How many Mini Str8ts are there each day?

Three, one at each of three difficulty levels.

How is it different from the Daily Str8ts?

The minis use a 6x6 grid and numbers 1 to 6, while the Daily Str8ts is a single 9x9 grid.

Can I print the puzzles?

Yes. A Printable Version button under the grid opens it for printing.
