CFB Wordle (Draft Challenger)

Name the day's college football player in eight guesses, or fifteen in Classic.

on draftchallenger.com

Today's CFB Wordle board (the Wordle tab) on Draft Challenger after two guesses: campus, position, height and number tiles with arrows, 2 of 8 used

CFB Wordle on Draft Challenger is a daily guess-the-player game for college football. The Wordle board gives eight tries, each guess compared with the hidden player on campus, position, height and jersey number; the Classic board gives fifteen guesses at a player from college seasons back to 1920, judged against one of their real seasons. Both boards are the same for everyone each day.

About CFB Wordle (Draft Challenger)

CFB Wordle is part of Draft Challenger, a sports site that runs daily player boards for several leagues beside its all-time draft game. Each day there is one hidden college football player on each of two boards, and a fixed number of guesses.

On the Wordle board you type a player's name and lock in a guess from the current rosters, and the row compares them with the answer on campus, position, height and jersey number. Each tile shows a match, a close miss or a miss, with arrows on height and number, so every guess narrows the field. Eight names is the limit.

Classic is harder. The answer comes from college seasons going back to 1920, and the board names the era, the number of honours and the day's position group (quarterbacks, rushers, receivers, front seven or secondary), with a worked example row. Every guess is set against the answer's real college season: position, season, school and that group's stats, each tile exact, close, similar or far, with arrows toward the right number. After four misses the school's city shows, and after seven a further fact appears with the option to open the answer.

Both boards change at midnight US Eastern time and keep their own streaks on your device; a panel shows yesterday's player. The same site has College Football Grid, College Football Connections and a career simulator. It suits fans who follow college football rosters and its history closely.

  5. Name the player within eight tries in Wordle or fifteen in Classic, then come back after midnight Eastern for the next board.

Tips

  • Campus is the strongest clue: a green leaves one school's roster.
  • A close on a number tells you which way to go with the next guess.
  • Play the Wordle tab first to warm up, then try Classic for the archive.
