Wordpeek is a word hunt with a picture under it. Each day's 9x9 grid of letters covers a hidden picture; trace words through touching letters to clear their tiles, then name what the picture shows in three guesses. It plays free in the browser and in the iPhone and Android apps, with no ads.
About Wordpeek
Wordpeek is made by the Warui Tensai Foundation, the small studio of Mike Elliott and Kelly Dornhaus, whose other games are listed on PlayThese.WTF. It came out on the App Store in December 2025 (listed there under Kelly Dornhaus Games), and its daily puzzle calendar started in July 2026. It plays in the browser and in apps for iPhone and Android.
Each puzzle is a 9x9 grid of letters laid over a hidden picture. You drag through touching letters to spell a word, up, down, diagonally or twisting around, and every word you find takes its tiles off the board and shows that part of the picture underneath. When you think you know what it is, you type your guess on the keyboard below the grid. You have three guesses, and a Skip button if you would rather keep clearing tiles first. A hint and a few helper items are there for a stuck moment.
A new dated puzzle comes out every day, the same for everyone, and today's is the one the web game opens. In the apps, the Daily Puzzles screen lays out this week's and last week's days, so a missed day can be caught up, and playing all seven days of a week unlocks a puzzle pack. Dozens of packs wait beyond the daily.
What sets it apart from other word hunts is that the words are only the way in: the real question is the picture. You can stop tracing as soon as you recognise it, so a good eye counts as much as a good vocabulary. It suits players who like tracing words through a letter grid and want a small riddle at the end of it.
How to play Wordpeek
- Open Wordpeek on the web or in the app; the web game opens on today's puzzle.
- Drag through touching letters in the 9x9 grid to spell a word, in any direction, bending as you go.
- Each word you find clears its tiles and shows that part of the hidden picture.
- When you recognise the picture, type what it shows on the keyboard below the grid; you have three guesses.
- Use Skip to keep clearing tiles before you guess, and the hint when you are stuck.
- In the app, play all seven days of a week to unlock a pack.

Tips
- Long words clear more tiles at once, so look for them before short ones.
- Clear tiles near the centre first; that is usually where the picture's subject sits.
- Do not spend a guess on a half-seen shape: one more word often settles it.
Questions
Is there a new Wordpeek every day?
Yes. A new dated puzzle comes out each day, the same for every player, and the web game opens today's.
What time does Wordpeek reset?
At midnight by your own device's clock: the game picks the day's puzzle from your local date.
How many guesses do I get at the picture?
Three. You can skip guessing and keep clearing tiles first.
Does Wordpeek have ads?
No. The web game loads no ad scripts, the Google Play listing does not say it contains ads, and both store listings say no data is collected.
Can I play past days?
In the iPhone and Android apps, the Daily Puzzles screen shows this week's and last week's days, and finishing a whole week unlocks a pack.
