Word Slide is a timed daily word puzzle from PEMDAS Games. The board is a row of letter columns: slide each one up or down so the middle row spells a word, and the letters you use turn green. Keep making words until every tile is green, and your time is ranked against everyone else's.
About Word Slide (PEMDAS)
Word Slide lays out the day's letters as a row of short columns of different heights. Only the middle row counts: you drag columns up and down to change which letter sits in it, and when the row spells a valid word, those tiles turn green. Then you shift columns again to bring unused letters into line and spell the next word.
The puzzle is solved when every tile on the board has been green, so the question is not just finding one word but an order of words that uses every letter. Your completion time is your score, ranked on the day's leaderboard and against friends. A new board comes each day, the same for every player, and the home screen lists the last few days' boards so you can go back and play one you missed.
It is one of four timed daily games from PEMDAS Games, with Speed Word, Speed Stars and Math Slide, free with no ads and no account needed, in the browser and the PEMDAS app for iPhone and Android. The first time you open it, a short tutorial board (CAG into BAG, BAT and CAT) shows how sliding works. A lightbulb button gives a hint when you are stuck.
It suits players who like a quick, physical word puzzle with a clock, closer to a sliding toy than to a crossword.

Tips
- Look first at the tallest columns: their letters need the most words to use up.
- Short columns with one letter limit where a word can sit; build words around them.
- Plan two words ahead rather than spelling the first one you see.
- The lightbulb gives a hint, but every second counts toward your time, so try a quick scan first.
