Three Goblins (Trzy Gobliny) is a small pixel-art riddle game in the browser and on Android. Each day three goblins pose a riddle for each of three language pairs; you translate each piece into the other language until one word is left, then type it in. A light shows red for wrong, yellow for close and green for solved.
About Three Goblins
Three Goblins, Trzy Gobliny in Polish, is a riddle game by the itch.io maker bibkabibka, published on Google Play as Gobopol and made with the Godot engine. Three goblins stacked in a trench coat stop you on your way to work, and they only speak in riddles.
The first time you open it you pick a language and the goblins talk you through the idea in a short dialogue, which you can skip. The main menu then shows three Daily buttons, one for each language pair: Polish and English, Polish and Spanish, and English and Spanish. The screens can be set to English, Polish, Spanish or Swedish from the cog button.
A day's riddle is a short line made of pieces from two languages, with some letters in red. Each piece has to be read in the other language of the pair, and once all of it is translated a single word is left, which you type with the on-screen keyboard (it has the accented letters of the pair). A timer runs while you think, a light bulb gives a hint, and the light by the answer box turns red for a wrong answer, yellow when you are close and green when you have it. The goblins warn that there are no second chances.
Past riddles wait in the Archives, a calendar of earlier days, and the Lessons teach the format step by step. A later update added Type 'Em Up, a separate real-time typing mode. The game is free, asks for no account and shows no ads.
It suits bilingual players and language learners who like wordplay more than word lists: the answer comes from thinking across two languages rather than guessing letters.
