9 Words on 19 October 2026: the first of nine words solved (a green square in the tracker), 25 seconds left and the letters G, O, A and Y to unscramble

9 Words is a free daily anagram game from PZL games. Each day brings nine hand-picked scrambled words, and you have thirty seconds to unscramble each one using every letter. It is the shorter sister of 18 Words on the same site, and it now shows ads unless you have PZL Plus.

About 9 Words (PZL games)

9 Words comes from PZL games, the daily puzzle site of Perfect Level Games Ltd, and follows the same idea as its 18 Words with half the length. Everyone gets the same nine words on the same day.

Each word appears as a set of letter tiles in a random order. You tap or type the letters in the right order to spell the word, using every tile, before the thirty-second clock for that word runs out. You may shuffle the tiles once per word, which can shake loose an answer you cannot see. A grid of nine squares at the top tracks how many words you have solved.

On a desktop you can type with the keyboard, and Space or Shift shuffles. At the end you get a result to share with friends who played the same nine words.

Since October 2026 the play page shows Venatus ads in rails beside the board on a desktop and in a banner above it on a phone. A NO ADS button by the timer leads to PZL Plus, the paid tier that removes them. The ads sit outside the board and do not cover the tiles.

It suits players who like Jumble-style anagrams and want something done in a few minutes.

How to play 9 Words (PZL games)

  2. Look at the shuffled letters and spell the word using every one of them.
  3. Tap the letters in order or type them before the 30-second clock runs out.
  4. Shuffle once if you are stuck, then move on to the next word.
  5. Solve as many of the nine as you can and share your result.

Tips

  • Look for common endings such as -ING, -ED or -LY first.
  • Save your one shuffle for when you are truly stuck on a word.
  • Say the letters aloud in different orders; it is often quicker than staring.
