The Transit Trail is a daily route-planning game. Each day sets the same trip for everyone between two airports, often small ones on different continents, and you get there by choosing flights from wherever you are. Every flight adds its duration to your total time, and the shortest journeys top the day's leaderboard.
About The Transit Trail
The Transit Trail is a browser game about getting across the world by air. Each day it sets one trip between two airports, usually small regional ones far apart: on 22 October 2026 it was Bagdogra in northern India to Comandante Espora at Bahia Blanca in Argentina. You start at the first airport and have to reach the second.
At each airport the game lists the flights leaving it, with each flight's duration and an arrow pointing the way it goes. A small airport may have only a handful of departures, while a hub such as Delhi offers dozens. Picking a flight moves you there and adds its duration to the TIME counter, so the counter is your total time in the air, not a stopwatch: you can think as long as you like.
When you land at the destination you can see your whole route, share a result with a link that lets a friend fly the same trip, and enter a name to put your total on the Daily Leaderboard for that date. Outside the daily trip, New Game gives a random trip at Easy, Medium or Hard. The daily trips come from a dated list, one different pair of airports for each day of 2026, all at Hard.
The game is free, needs no account and shows no ads. Its background map currently shows CARTO's "API key required" tiles instead of a world map, so you steer by the flight list and its direction arrows. It suits geography fans and frequent flyers who know which hubs serve which regions.

Tips
- From a small airport, head for the nearest large hub first: it has far more departures to choose from.
- Before leaving your home continent, think which hubs have long-haul flights toward the destination's region.
- Only flight time counts, so a route with more hops can still beat a route with fewer if the flights are shorter overall.
- Use the direction arrows beside each flight to keep heading toward the destination.
Questions
Is the daily trip the same for everyone?
Yes. Each UTC date has one Daily Challenge with a fixed start and destination, and a leaderboard for that day.
How is the leaderboard ranked?
By total travel time: the sum of the durations of the flights you took, lowest first. How long you spend choosing does not count.
Can I play more than one trip?
Yes. New Game gives a random trip at Easy, Medium or Hard, and a shared result link lets a friend fly the same trip.
Does it need an account?
No. You play straight away and only type a name if you want your time on the daily leaderboard.
