Sportle's Active Footballer daily puzzle for 2026-10-25 with two guesses, Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland, compared by country, age, club, league, shirt number, position and foot

Sportle is a free daily sports guessing site for football and cricket. Each day brings eight puzzles, four for each sport, where you name a mystery player, club, stadium or ground in up to eight guesses from colour-coded clues. Replayable arcade games and head-to-head duels sit alongside the dailies.

About Sportle

Sportle splits its daily puzzles into two arenas. The football arena has four: Active Footballer (compared by country, age, club, league, shirt number, position and foot), Career Path (each wrong guess reveals another club from the player's career), Guess the Club (league, founding year, capacity, colour and continent) and Guess the Stadium (a zoomed image that widens with each miss). The cricket arena mirrors it with Active Cricketer (country, role, batting, debut, runs and wickets), Retired Legend, Guess the Team and Guess the Ground.

Every puzzle is dated and the same for everyone, with up to eight guesses. Feedback is coloured green for an exact match, yellow for close and red for wrong, with arrows on number columns such as age, shirt number, debut year and runs pointing higher or lower, and the image and career modes reveal a little more with each miss. The site says its player and venue database was last updated in February 2026.

Beyond the dailies there is a coin-based arcade of replayable games (Higher or Lower, Career Linker, Sports Top Trumps, Secret Sub, Stat Gridlock and a sports Connections) and a head-to-head arena for live duels. None of it needs an account, though a Sign In keeps stats and rankings. If you are stuck, a button offers one extra clue in return for watching an ad.

It suits football and cricket fans who want several quick puzzles a day in one place, especially those who follow both sports.

How to play Sportle

  1. Open sportle.fun and pick a daily puzzle from the football or cricket arena.
  2. Search for a player, club or ground and submit your guess.
  3. Read the colours: green is an exact match, yellow is close and red is wrong; an arrow on a number says whether the answer's is higher or lower.
  4. Use the clues, and in the image and career modes the extra reveal, to choose your next guess.
  5. Solve it within eight guesses, then move on to the next of the day's eight.

Tips

  • In Active Footballer, settle the league and position first; they cut the field fastest.
  • Career Path rewards patience: each miss shows another club, so a cautious first guess is fine.
  • Cricketers' debut year and role narrow the pool more than the country does.
