Smixed
Rate itSix featured letters a day: start a word with each one and pack in as many as you can, for up to 33 points.
on smixed.com

Smixed gives everyone the same six featured letters each day. You fill six rows of three to eight letters with words, each starting with a different featured letter, and score a point every time a featured letter appears. The top score of 33, a Smax, means every letter you used was featured. Take all day over it or race the clock.
About Smixed
Smixed is a daily word game for the web and iPhone, designed by Gabriel Acosta-Cohen, with the website and app built by Big Boat (Camden Vaughan). The iPhone app came out in November 2022.
Each day the game picks one set of six featured letters from a fixed list of 2,728 sets, counting the days from a start date, so everyone plays the same set and none comes round again for more than seven years. Your board has six rows that grow from three letters to eight, and each word must begin with a different featured letter. You may use other letters too, but only featured letters score: one point every time one appears, repeats included.
Because the rows hold 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 letters, the top score is 33, called a Smax, and it means every letter you typed was featured. Each set has at least four ways to reach it. A Smax within three minutes is a Golden Smax, and sharing one shows the day's emoji. Each word changes colour by its score, a clock counts up as you play, and the stats track your average score, average time, total Smaxes and Smax streak.
The iPhone app adds three modes with random letters: Endless with no timer, Hard with three minutes and Dash with one. The website plays the daily alone, with no account and no ads.
It suits players who like open-ended word building more than guessing a single answer, whether they polish a perfect score through the day or go for speed.
How to play Smixed
- Open Smixed and press Daily Smix to see the day's six featured letters.
- Type a word into the first empty row; the rows hold 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 letters, and a full row moves you to the next.
- Start each word with a different featured letter, so all six are used once as a first letter.
- Pack your words with featured letters, since each one scores a point and other letters score nothing.
- Press the tick, or Enter on a keyboard, to submit and see your score and time.

Tips
- Plan the eight-letter row first: it is the hardest to fill with featured letters alone.
- Repeated featured letters count each time, so words like SINCE or CYNICS with the day's letters score their full length.
- Letters that are not featured are allowed but worth nothing, so keep them few.
- Press shift, or the shuffle button, to see the featured letters in a new order when you are stuck.
Questions
Does everyone get the same letters?
Yes. The featured letters are chosen by the date, so all players get the same set on the same day.
What is a Smax?
The maximum score of 33 points, which needs every letter in all six words to be featured. Getting it within the first three minutes is a Golden Smax.
When does a new set of letters arrive?
At midnight in your own time zone, as the game reads the day from your device's date.
Is there an app?
Yes, a free iPhone app with the daily plus Endless, Hard and Dash modes. The Android listing is no longer on Google Play; the website plays fine on an Android phone.
Can I replay the puzzle?
Yes, there is a replay button, and your stats track averages and Smax streaks.
