Buzzword is the daily word-building game on CNA Games, the puzzle page of the Singapore news channel. A flower of letters sits on the board (nine on 6 October 2026, eight petals around a centre), and you make as many words of four letters or more as you can, always using the centre letter. It is free on the website and in the CNA app.
About Buzzword (CNA)
Buzzword is CNA's version of the letter-flower game that the New York Times made famous as Spelling Bee. It is published every day on the news channel's games page and in its app, and runs on PuzzleMe from Amuse Labs.
Each puzzle is a flower of letters with one in the red centre; on 6 October 2026 it had eight petals and a centre letter. A word counts if it is at least four letters long and uses the centre letter; the other letters can be used as often as you like. A counter beside the flower shows how many of the day's words you have found out of the total, 29 on 6 October 2026, and a row of buds above it fills as you score.
When you have found them all, or want to stop, CNA shows your time and lets you view the answers, then asks you to check back tomorrow. The CNA app for iPhone and Android carries the same games with a winning streak, achievement badges and archived puzzles.
It suits players of Spelling Bee and other letter wheels who want a second daily set, with a known total so you can tell when you are done.
How to play Buzzword (CNA)
- Open Buzzword on CNA Games and look at the letters on the flower.
- Tap letters to spell a word of four or more letters that uses the red centre letter.
- Press the enter button to submit it; found words are added to your list.
- Reuse any letter as often as you need.
- Keep going until you have found every word in the day's total.
Tips
- Try common endings such as -ING, -ED and -ER on words you already have.
- Look for the longest word first: a word that uses every letter often unlocks shorter ones inside it.
- Check the counter: if you are a few short, think of plurals and simple verb forms.
