Runes No. 260 (26 October 2026) at the start, on a desktop. Three letter rings sit under seal counters of 0 of 5, 0 of 6 and 0 of 7

Runes is a free daily word puzzle played on a wheel of concentric letter rings. You turn the rings and pick out hidden words, and finding the right ones reveals the day's three seals. Each puzzle is numbered and dated, and you can play without signing in.

About Runes

Runes is a browser word game built in the Godot engine. Each day there is one numbered puzzle, credited as edited by Dan Moramarco, and the start screen shows its number and date.

The board is a circle of letter rings around a centre. You rotate the rings with buttons and select letters to spell words, then submit them; found words light up in colour on the wheel and appear in a list above it. The puzzle is built around three seals, which are filled in as you discover the words tied to them, and a progress bar tracks your way through the day.

A tutorial explains the rules in a couple of minutes. You can play without an account; signing in with Google keeps your progress, stats and history across devices.

It suits players who like Spelling Bee and Strands style word hunts with a spatial twist.
