identiFIVE Wheels is a free daily word puzzle played on columns of spinning letter wheels. Each day you turn the wheels until a row reads a three-letter word, then a four-letter word as a wheel is added, then a five-letter word. It needs no sign-up, shows no ads, and keeps past puzzles to play.
About identiFIVE Wheels
identiFIVE Wheels is a browser word puzzle by Jonathan Ellinsfield, part of the identiFIVE collection of small word, logic and action games. The puzzle is a set of vertical letter wheels standing side by side, each one a column of coloured letters that you can turn up or down.
A day's puzzle comes in three stages. It starts with three wheels, and your job is to turn them until any row reads as a three-letter word. Then the puzzle grows to four letters and finally to five. The game says the words are simple and unrelated to each other, so there is no theme to guess; the challenge is spotting which letters on each wheel can sit next to each other.
Everyone gets the same wheels on the same date, and a new numbered set arrives each day; the first was No. 1 on 20 September 2026, and the game holds 726 of them, enough for about two years without a repeat. Each stage has more than one word that fits, so you only need to find one of them before the next wheel slides in. Three hints are on hand if you get stuck, a Past Puzzles menu holds earlier days, and when you finish you can share your result. Progress can also be saved to a file and loaded on another device.
The site asks for no account and carries no ads or upsells. It is made for phones held upright as well as for desktop browsers, and it suits anyone who likes short word puzzles that take a few minutes and reward a good eye for letter patterns.
How to play identiFIVE Wheels

- Use one of the three hints if you are stuck, then share your result when all three words are found.

Tips
- Look for a vowel on the middle wheel first; most short words hang on one.
- The word can sit in any row, so scan every row after each turn rather than only the middle one.
- Common endings such as -ED, -ER or -S on the last wheels narrow the four and five-letter stages quickly.
Questions
Is identiFIVE Wheels free?
Yes. It plays in the browser with no sign-up and no ads.
When does a new puzzle come out?
A new numbered set of wheels arrives each day at midnight by your device's date. The game checks the date against its server, so changing the device clock does not unlock tomorrow's wheels.
Can I play earlier puzzles?
Yes. The Past Puzzles menu opens every earlier day back to No. 1 on 20 September 2026.
Is there only one right word?
No. Each stage usually has several words that can be lined up from the wheels, and any one of them moves you on.
