Runedle is a daily guessing game for Old School RuneScape players. You name an NPC, and each guess is compared with the hidden one on gender, race, region, combat level and release date until you find the day's character. An Expert mode draws from almost every NPC in the game, and Runes asks you to name a spell from its rune cost.
About Runedle
Runedle takes the attribute-guessing format of games like LoLdle and applies it to the cast of Old School RuneScape. Each day at midnight UTC it picks one NPC for everyone. You type a name, choose it from the list, and a row of tiles shows how your guess compares: gender, race and region turn green for a match, yellow for a partial match and red for a miss, while combat level and release date carry arrows saying whether the answer is higher or lower. The region tile also carries an arrow pointing across the map toward the answer's region, so a miss in Misthalin still tells you which way to look.
The normal daily draws from a pool of about 156 well-known characters, from Hans and King Roald to bosses such as Skotizo and the Kalphite Queen. Expert mode plays the same way but draws from roughly 2,400 NPCs, shopkeepers and minor quest characters included, and marks your shared result as expert. After fifteen guesses a button lets you give up and see the answer. A Glossary page lists every NPC with its attributes and a link to the OSRS Wiki.
The third daily, Runes, shows the rune cost of one of 189 spells and asks you to name it. Every three guesses another hint opens: the spell type, then its spellbook, then the level needed, then its icon. Results share as coloured squares, and the settings include a colour-blind mode.
The page is drawn in the game's own brown and yellow interface style with NPC portraits on every row. It suits OSRS players who know their NPCs and spellbooks, and the Expert mode is a real test even for long-time players.
How to play Runedle
- Open Runedle and type the name of an Old School RuneScape NPC, then pick it from the list.
- Read the row: green is a match with the hidden NPC, yellow a partial match, red a miss.
- Follow the arrows on combat level and release date up or down, and the region arrow across the map.
- Keep guessing until the name tile turns green, then share your result.
- Switch to Expert for a harder NPC, or to Runes to name the day's spell from its rune cost.

Tips
- Open with a well-known human NPC from a central region to settle gender, race and direction at once.
- The combat level and release date arrows narrow the field quickly; use them before guessing specific names.
- The normal pool is mostly famous characters and bosses, so think of quest givers and bosses before minor shopkeepers.
- In Runes, the rune mix often gives away the spellbook before the hint does.
