Nonogram Arena

Nonogram Arena is a nonogram (picross, griddlers) app for iPhone and Android by Ivan Stoyanov, who also trades as Clickoni and makes Queens Arena. Each row and column has clues that give the runs of filled squares in order, and you work out which squares are filled and which are crossed out. Every board has exactly one solution and can be solved by logic alone, from 5x5 up to 20x20.

The home screen, redesigned in October 2026, leads with Today's dailies: three new boards that are the same for everyone. The daily Challenge is one puzzle on one clock, and your time is compared with everyone who played it today. The Daily Tower is six timed levels that get bigger as you climb, ranked on your total time. The daily Endless strip is one run down a grid that keeps scrolling, where each correct mark buys more seconds. Finish all three for a grand slam; a streak counts your days and a Streak Freeze covers one you miss.

Outside the dailies there is solo play at every size, an Endless mode at three difficulties with weekly boards, and live matches by code: Battle for up to four players on the same puzzle, Team Play on one board or 2v2, and Endless races. In the Arena you post a time or an Endless run and everyone gets one try to beat it within 24 hours. Coins, levels, daily goals and themes run through it all.

Solo play works with no account and offline, but the store listing says you sign in to play the dailies and the live modes. The app is free with ads, and in-app purchases remove them ($3.99) or unlock a lifetime premium ($6.99). It suits nonogram players who like a clock and a leaderboard more than a quiet picture puzzle.
