on nflwordle.net

NFL Wordle is a free browser game with one mystery NFL player a day, the same for everyone. You pick players from a search box and each guess shows which of the answer's team, position, division, college and numbers you matched, with arrows for higher or lower. A new player arrives at midnight US Eastern Time, and an unlimited mode is there when one round is not enough.
About NFL Wordle
NFL Wordle at nflwordle.net is a guess-the-player game for American football fans. Each day it picks one mystery player from well-known current NFL players, and everyone who plays that day is after the same one. You get eight guesses and one game a day; once you solve it or run out, the day's puzzle locks and the answer is shown. The daily began on 27 September 2026 and each day carries a number, so 25 October was No. 29. The answer is picked by a hash of the date over the site's answer pool rather than from a fixed list, so a player can turn up again after a while.
A guess is a real player chosen from a search box, not a typed word. The row it adds compares him with the answer across team, position, division, college, years of experience, age, height, weight and jersey number. A green tile is a match and a gray one is not. Division is the only tile that can turn yellow, which means the same conference (AFC or NFC) but a different division. Positions are compared by group, so tackles, guards and centres all count as offensive line, and corners and safeties as defensive backs. The number tiles carry an arrow saying whether the answer is higher or lower and, in brackets, how far off you are.
Rosters come from a live data source and refresh during the season, so trades and rookies show up in the player list. Progress is kept on your device with no sign-up, and when you finish you can share a result of coloured squares, numbered by day, that names no players.
The daily puzzle has a companion unlimited mode with a fresh player as soon as you finish a round, and the site describes itself as ad-free; we saw no ads on the daily page at desktop or phone size. On a phone the guess table turns into one card per guess, with the clues stacked in rows. It suits NFL fans who follow rosters closely and like a short daily deduction; players who prefer basketball will find the same idea in Poeltl.
How to play NFL Wordle
- Open the daily page and type part of a player's name into the search box.
- Pick a player from the list to lock in your guess.
- Read the row: green tiles match the answer, gray ones do not, and a yellow Division means same conference but another division.
- Use the arrows on experience, age, height, weight and jersey to tell whether the answer's numbers are higher or lower, and by how much.
- Narrow the field and find the player within eight guesses; the day's puzzle then locks until midnight Eastern.
- Tap Share to send your result as coloured squares without spoilers.

Tips
- Open with a player whose division you can rule in or out quickly; a yellow Division halves the league to one conference.
- Remember positions are grouped: a green on OL or DB does not tell you the exact spot, so use height and weight to split them.
- The bracketed gaps on age and jersey number let you jump straight to a narrow range instead of stepping one guess at a time.
- Answers come from well-known current players, so starters and stars are better guesses than deep backups.
