Lexagon puzzle #149 on a desktop: 19 hexagon letter tiles, DOCK and SEW found, 2 of 78 words, the clue TO ..... ON .... and a 13-letter Lexagon still to find

Lexagon is a free daily word puzzle on a board of 19 hexagon letter tiles. You swipe along neighbouring tiles to spell words and try to find every word on the board, moving along a path around it as you go. A clue phrase points to the Lexagon, the longest word, and finding it unlocks unlimited definition hints. Past puzzles are free in an archive.

About Lexagon

Lexagon gives everyone the same numbered board each day: 19 hexagon tiles, each with a letter, and a difficulty from 1 to 3. You swipe along adjacent tiles, or type on a computer, to make words of three letters or more, using each tile only once per word. Below the board, the word bank shows a placeholder for every word in the puzzle, shortest first, so you can see how many are left and how long they are. Standard Scrabble rules decide which words count.

The longest word on the board is the Lexagon, and a clue phrase under the grid hints at it. Every nine letters you find earn a definition hint, which gives a word's meaning and first letter, and more hints can be bought with gems earned in play. Once you find the Lexagon the hints become unlimited, so every puzzle can be finished. Each word moves you along a path around the board; every corner unlocks a booster, such as guides that light up the next tile, and completing the path collects the board's Prism.

Words score by length, the square of the letters beyond two, so a 7-letter word is worth 25 points. Quick runs of words double their points, and bonus words add points and gems. Clearing a tile of all its words turns it into a gem, and points open chests with hidden themes.

Puzzles are released at 8am CST, and a calendar archive goes back to puzzle #1 on 1 June 2026 and is free to play. You can play as a guest with progress saved in the browser, or create an account to sync it and appear on the leaderboards. The site shows Google ads, including a full-screen ad when you start a puzzle. It is made by @thepianomatt and suits players who like Boggle or Squaredle and want a clue to chase.

Tips

  • Find the Lexagon early: once you have it, definition hints are unlimited.
  • Find words in quick succession to set the board on fire and score double points.
  • Short words fill the path and earn hints; save hints for the long words that are hard to spot.
  • A tile cleared of all its words becomes a gem, so the tiles still lit up are where the missing words start.
