Decode (Last Control)
Rate itCrack today's intercepted transmission: three Caesar-shifted sentences, no timer.
on game.last-control.com

Decode is a short daily codebreaking game from LastControl, a dystopian browser strategy game. Each day brings one numbered intercepted transmission for everyone, split into three rounds of Caesar-shifted English. You work out the shift and pick the right plain sentence from four, with no clock running.
About Decode (Last Control)
Decode sits beside LastControl's daily 60 second cognitive audit as a small daily side game, with the same dark, deadpan styling. The puzzle is numbered (Decode #99 on 3 October 2026), and the start screen says the same cipher goes to every operator worldwide and rotates at 00:00 UTC.
A Caesar cipher moves every letter the same number of places through the alphabet, wrapping round after Z. Each round shows one encrypted line and four proposed English sentences, only one of which is the true decoding. Each of the three rounds uses a different shift, so you have to check the mapping afresh every time.
There is no timer, so it rewards care over speed: find an anchor such as a one letter word or a doubled letter, work out the shift from it, and confirm it on another word before you choose. It is free in the browser and needs no account.
How to play Decode (Last Control)
- Open Decode and press Begin.
- Look at the encrypted line and the four candidate English sentences.
- Use short words or repeated letters to work out how far the letters have been shifted.
- Check that shift on another word, then pick the sentence that matches.
- Finish all three rounds; each uses a new shift.

Tips
- One letter words are almost always A or I, which gives the shift at once.
- Doubled letters in the cipher stay doubled in the answer, so compare them with the options.
- Check the shift on a second word before committing; two options can share a word.
- Treat every round as a fresh cipher, since the shift changes.
