on landmarkguessr.com

LandmarkGuessr is a free daily geography game. Each day everyone gets the same five photos of real landmarks, starting as a close crop, and you place a pin on a world map where you think each one stands. The closer the pin, the more points, up to 5,000 a day, with no clock and no account.
About LandmarkGuessr
LandmarkGuessr is an independent browser game about famous places. Its daily challenge shows five photographs of real monuments, one per round, and asks you to find each on a world map. The photo starts as a detail at the Normal level, so a round might open on a wall of fitted stones or the corner of a roof rather than the whole building.
You zoom and drag the map, place a pin, move it if you change your mind, and confirm. Each round is worth up to 1,000 points: a pin within 25 km of the landmark's reference point earns all of them, and the score falls off gradually with distance after that. Two hints are offered with their cost shown first: revealing the full photo caps the round at 850 points, and revealing the continent caps it at 700. There is no time penalty, so you can take as long as you like.
After each round the game shows the correct spot, your distance and a short story about the place, with a link to a guide on the monument. The collection started with 60 landmarks in 12 countries, and the site also has country pages and guides on telling lookalike landmarks apart.
The daily series changes at midnight UTC. Its five landmarks are drawn by the date from the same bank of 60, spread across continents, so a regular player meets the same places again within a week or two. Your first finished daily game on a device is the one that counts; playing again is practice. Outside the daily there is a practice mode by country, continent or monument type at Easy, Normal or Hard photo levels, and friend challenges that give everyone the same five landmarks and a shared ranking for 24 hours. It suits players who like GeoGuessr-style pinning but prefer a short, calm game about well known places rather than anonymous roads.
How to play LandmarkGuessr
- Open today's daily challenge; round 1 shows a cropped detail of a landmark photo.
- Study the photo for clues such as stonework, roof shapes, vegetation and sky.
- Open the map, zoom or drag it, and tap or click to place your pin; you can move it before you submit.
- If you are stuck, reveal the full photo or the continent; each hint lowers the most the round can score.
- Select Confirm location to see the right spot, your distance, your points and a short story about the place.
- Play all five rounds, then share your score or challenge a friend with the same five landmarks.

Tips
- A pin within 25 km of the reference point scores the full 1,000, so for a big site aim at its best known part rather than its exact edge.
- Try the photo detail before revealing the full picture: the full-photo hint only costs 150 points, but the continent hint costs 300.
- There is no clock, so zoom in on the map before confirming; moving the map never submits an answer.
- Practice mode on Easy shows the whole photo with no penalty and is a good way to learn the collection.
